Talent search 2016

Third Bloem Show / Computicket Talent Search Competition presented

The Bloem Show Computicket Talent Search Competition is back in town again on the quest to unearth Mangaung’s talented youth. The competition has proven to be a great success in the past, with the winners of both years still reaping the rewards of their hard work and passion. The competition is presented in conjunction with Computicket, PACOFS, Kovsie FM and the Golden Bean Awards.

Auditions for the competition will be held on Saturday, 5 March 2016 at Pacofs, Studio 1 and Studio 2. Registration is compulsory from 8:00 - 13:00 and the judges will only be able to see the first 100 contestants. Participants will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges who are on the look-out for individuals or groups with a creative edge and a flair for performing either singing or dancing.

Contestants are advised to take note of the following conditions prior to auditioning:

  • Only dancing and singing will be allowed.
  • Performance may not be longer than 3 minutes.
  • No bands are allowed, only "back tracks" and acoustics.
  • Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 with no professional experience.
  • It is imperative that once selected, the contestant is available for all scheduled performance dates on 5 and 12 March as well as 21 and 29 April and 4 May 2016.

The winner will get to take R10 000 home, with the second place runner-up receiving R5 000 and the third place winner gets R2 500. The remaining 7 finalists will also receive R500 in cash for the efforts.

Finalists from both categories will be shortlisted and then go through to the semi-finals on Saturday, 12 March 2015 at The OFM DownStage at Pacofs. The selected final 10 will perform on Thursday, 21 April 2015 between 13:00 and 14:00 at the UFS Thakaneng Bridge, and be interviewed live on Kovsie FM. The voting concert, where the audience will be given the opportunity to vote for their favorite takes place on 29 April 2015 at 17:30 at the Bloem Show's Clover Stage. Visitors can also catch the popular band Shortstraw at the Pick n Pay stage, straight thereafter. The final concert where the winners will be announced will be held on 4 May at 18:30 at Bloem Show's Clover Stage with the grand finale performance by the pop rock band Parlotones at the Pick n Pay Stage.

These finalists will also get the chance to participate in the category of Best newcomer at the annual Golden Bean Music awards later in November this year, thus contestants are urged to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.
